Mushroom and Swiss Burger Casserole

A delicious and comforting Mushroom and Swiss Burger Casserole that combines the flavors of a classic burger with the creamy goodness of Swiss cheese.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 whole onion, diced
  • 2 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package frozen tater tots

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  3. Add the diced onion and sliced mushrooms, cooking until softened.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  5. Stir in the cooked meat mixture and half of the shredded Swiss cheese.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly in a greased casserole dish.
  7. Top with tater tots and remaining Swiss cheese.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

  • This casserole can be made ahead of time and reheated.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables such as bell peppers or spinach.
