- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1 egg, beaten

- In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it’s foamy.
- Add the flour to the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Dissolve the baking soda in 2 cups of hot water.
- Shape the dough into pretzels and dip each one into the baking soda solution.
