Bobby Flay’s Crab & Corn Chowder Recipe

A delightful combination of sweet crab, fresh corn, and crispy turkey bacon in a creamy chowder.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups corn kernels
  • 2 cups diced potatoes
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 pound lump crab meat
  • 2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the turkey bacon in a large pot until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the drippings.
  2. Add onion and garlic to the pot and sauté until soft.
  3. Stir in corn, potatoes, and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender.
  4. Mix in heavy cream, crab meat, and Old Bay seasoning. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot, garnished with chopped turkey bacon.

Notes

  • For a thicker chowder, puree a portion of the soup and mix it back in.
  • Feel free to substitute fresh herbs for extra flavor.
